      What is meditation:-

Most techniques called meditation include these elements:

 1. You sit or lie in a relaxed position.

 2. You breathe regularly.  You take deep breaths to get enough oxygen.  When you exhale, you relax your muscles so that your lungs are well emptied, but without stress.

 3.  You stop thinking about everyday problems and issues.

   4.  You focus on some words in your thoughts, some words you repeat, some images, some abstract ideas or some feelings.  You should focus on the topic you have chosen to focus your attention on.

 5.  If some foreign thought is initiated, you simply stop this foreign thought and return to the purpose of meditation.

Different meditation techniques vary according to the degree of concentration and how foreign thinking is conducted.By some strategy, the purpose is to concentrate so intensely that no foreign thought occurs at all.

In other strategies, the concentration is more relaxed so that foreign thoughts pop up easily.  When these foreign thoughts are discovered, one stops them and goes back to pure meditation at ease.  Thoughts come to the fore, often you forget about things you forgot or suppressed, and will allow you to rediscover the contents of hidden memory.

  A Simple Form of Meditation

Here is a general form of meditation:

 1. Sit in a good chair in a comfortable position.

 2.  Relax as much as you can with all your muscles.

 3.  Stop thinking about anything, or at least try not to think about anything.

 4.  Exhale, relax all the muscles in your respiratory system.

 5. Repeat the following in 10 - 20 minutes:

 - Breathe so deeply that you feel like you have got enough oxygen.

 - Exhale, relax your chest and diaphragm completely.

 - Think of "one" or any other simple word in yourself whenever you exhale.  You should think about this word at length, and try to avoid using your mouth or voice so that you can hear it inside you.

 6. If foreign thoughts come, just stop these thoughts in a relaxed way, and continue to breathe and concentrate on the word you are repeating.

As you go through this meditation you should feel more relaxed in your mind and body, feel that you have breathed more effectively and blood circulation throughout your body is more efficient.  You can feel the growing emotional joy throughout meditation.
